How It Works

All students aged 16 – 18 – and we are completely non-selective – can choose to study 1, 2, 3 or 4 subjects.

They study remotely for four days each week and attend their chosen Hartington College campus for the fifth day to meet their tutor, their peers and take part in careers and our personal development programme This is Me!. Those students studying practical subjects may choose to attend on two days either permanently or occasionally.

All students at Hartington College can make up their own combination of subjects from those already being provided by our four Hartington College campuses and we will do our utmost to support these – our only restriction is our ability to provide support in a particular practical subject at all of our campuses and timetabling – but these situations will be rare.

Any non-core subjects not offered by the school but requested by students can be provided by utilising our hybrid education partner, Sophia High School who can supply specialist subject teachers, subject to a minimum of 5 pupils signing up for the specialist subject.

On joining Hartington College, you also get the benefits of a Hartington College Club membership.
